He married Margaret Jane Hopkins August 29, 1855. Margaret was born Jamestown, PA October 27, 1836. Margaret died September 28, 1912 Fort Scott, Bourbon County, KS, at 75 years of age. Her body was interred Fort Scott, Bourbon County, KS, Evergreen Cemetery.

Cosby, MO July 19, 1859. John was the son of William Henry Carson and Julia Ann Ruby. John died March 29, 1940
