He married Catherine (Mauer) Mason in Masontown, Fayette County, PA, About 1780. Catherine was born in VA 1762. Catherine was the daughter of John Mason and Apolonia Baker. Catherine died After October 1850 in Harrison Township, Hancock County, IN.

John Catt and Catherine (Mauer) Mason had the following children:

+ 8 i. George³ Catt was born March 5, 1781.

+ 9 ii. Johannes "John" Catt was born March 22, 1787.

10 iii. Maryan Catt was born in German Township, Fayette County, PA About 1790. She married David Early in Columbiana County, OH, July 3, 1810.

11 iv. Michael Catt was born in Masontown, Fayette County, PA June 4, 1793. Michael died July 30, 1879 in Hancock County, IN, at 86 years of age.

12 v. Elizabeth Catt was born in Masontown, Fayette County, PA March 25, 1796. She married Michael Koonts in Columbiana County, OH, January 23, 1817.

13 vi. Solomon Catt was born in Mason County, KY November 1, 1799. Solomon died October 28, 1869 in Saline County, MO, at 69 years of age.

14 vii. Samuel Catt was born in PA About 1802.
