140. Leroy Vernon¹⁰ Tarpley (John Franklin⁹, Samuel Sanders⁸, John⁷, Sterling⁶, John⁵, John⁴, John³, John², John¹) was born Lawton, Comanche County, OK April 18, 1900. Leroy died August 3, 1978 in Tulsa, Tulsa County, OK, at 78 years of age.

He married Willie Lee Scott. Willie was born September 28, 1901. Willie died February 18, 1934 at 32 years of age.

Leroy Vernon Tarpley and Willie Lee Scott had the following children:

166 i. Mary Dorene¹¹ Tarpley (still alive).

+ 167 ii. John Collier Tarpley was born May 22, 1922.

168 iii. James Vernon Tarpley (living status unknown).
