20. Joseph Richard³ Bowman (James W.², James M.¹) was born in Cooke County, TX March 1871. Joseph died November 29, 1929 in Pilot Point, Denton County, TX, at 58 years of age. His body was interred in Denton County, TX, Belew Cemetery.

He married twice. He married Lula J. Moore in Cooke County, TX, October 30, 1889. Lula was born in TX August 1872. Lula was the daughter of Farmer Harvey Moore and Sarah Ramsey. Lula died 1907 in Dewey County, OK, at 34 years of age. Her body was interred in Putnam, Dewey County, OK, Prairie Bell Cemetery. He married Effie Armenta Chrisco in OK ?, After 1907. Effie was born in Shannon County?, MO August 7, 1884. Effie was the daughter of Arthur Chrisco and Sarah Josephine Rich. Effie died November 29, 1929 in Cooke County, TX, at 45 years of age. Her body was interred in Cooke County, TX.

Joseph Richard Bowman and Lula J. Moore had the following children:

+ 34 i. Benny Clifton⁴ Bowman was born April 1896.

+ 35 ii. Bonnie Theo. Bowman was born May 22,1897.

36 iii. Jewell Harvey Bowman was born in Dewey County, OK February 4, 1900. Jewell died May 25, 1965 in Glen Rose, Somervelle County, TX, at 65 years of age. His body was interred in Glen Rose, Somervelle County, TX, Glen Rose Cemetery. He married Seela "Lela" Smith in Rhea, Dewey County, OK, October 4, 1919.

He resided in Glen Rose, Somerville County, TX November 1929.

37 iv. Ruphus Melvin Bowman was born in Dewey County, OK September 2, 1903. Ruphus died November 12, 1908 in Dewey County, OK, at 5 years of age. His body was interred in Dewey County, OK, Prairie Bell Cemetery.

38 v. John Archie Bowman was born in Dewey County, OK September 2, 1903. John died December 20, 1903 in Dewey County, OK, at less than one year of age. His body was interred in Dewey County, OK, Prairie Bell Cemetery.

Joseph Richard Bowman and Effie Armenta Chrisco had the following children:

39 vi. Josephine Louise Bowman was born September 6, 1911.

40 vii. Doris Catherine Bowman was born July 24, 1913.

41 viii. Richard Bowman was born in Putnam, Dewey County, OK 1915. Richard died 1915 in Putnam, Dewey County, OK, at less than one year of age. His body was interred in Dewey County, OK, Prairie Bell Cemetery.

42 ix. Enna "Lorene" Bowman was born June 17, 1917. She married Howard Thurman. (See Howard Thurman for the continuation of this line.)

43 x. Freda Joyce Bowman was born May 10, 1919.

44 xi. Merlyn Bowman was born in Putnam, Dewey County, OK About 1922. Merlyn died 1922 in Putnam, Dewey County, OK, at less than one year of age. His body was interred in Dewey County, OK, Prairie Bell Cemetery.
