1. John Lloyd¹ Yoakum was born in Speedwell, Tennessee November 25, 1881. John died December 11, 1950 in Middlesboro, Bell Co., Kentucky, at 69 years of age.

He married Minnie Elizabeth Clark in Clairborne Co., Tennessee, June 21, 1906. Minnie was born in Gibson Station, Lee Co., Virginia April 10, 1888. Minnie was the daughter of David Garland Bell Clark and Martha Virginia Ely Conner. Minnie died December 16, 1971 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., Kentucky, at 83 years of age. Her body was interred September 19, 1971 in Middlesboro, Bell Co., Kentucky.

John Lloyd Yoakum and Minnie Elizabeth Clark had the following children:

2 i. Edreas H.² Yoakum (living status unknown).

3 ii. Ethel Lee Yoakum was born October 17, 1907. Ethel died August 27, 1908 at less than one year of age.

4 iii. Hazel Doris Yoakum (still alive).
