5. Leroy Austin⁴ Hinshaw (Cyrus Mahlon³, Cyrus A.², Jacob¹) was born in Cowley County, KS October 28, 1878. Leroy died April 15, 1945 in CA, at 66 years of age.

He married Alta Alameda Taylor in Eureka, Humboldt County, CA, June 23, 1910. Alta was born in Anson, Jones County, TX June 21, 1892. Alta was the daughter of Samuel Wesley Taylor and Sarah Elisabeth Irvin. Alta died April 18, 1997 in Citrus Heights, Sacramento County, CA, at 104 years of age.

Leroy Austin Hinshaw and Alta Alameda Taylor had the following children:

+ 7 i. Austin Adrian⁵ Hinshaw (living status unknown).

+ 8 ii. Bruce Earl Hinshaw was born December 8, 1918.

9 iii. Elizabeth Ellen Hinshaw (living status unknown).
