11. James Alexander³ Simpson (Fletcher², Alexander¹) was born in New Salem Twp., Pike, IL May 12, 1853. James died December 10, 1936 in Colorado Springs, El Paso County, CO, at 83 years of age. His body was interred December 12, 1936 in Grinnell Cem., Grinnell, Gove, Ks.

He married Ida Vandervort Schermerhorn in McPherson, McPherson County, KS, December 26, 1878. Ida was born in Rosamond, Christian, Il November 29, 1859. Ida died July 25, 1919 in Grinnell, Gove, Ks, at 59 years of age. Her body was interred July 1919 in Grinnell Cem., Grinnell, Gove, Ks.

James Alexander Simpson and Ida Vandervort Schermerhorn had the following children:

+ 31 i. Clarence Alexander⁴ Simpson was born December 13, 1879.

32 ii. Ruth Ann Simpson was born in Spring Va. Twp., Mcpherson, Ks December 15, 1881. Ruth died January 8, 1883 in Mcpherson, Mcpherson, Ks, at 1 year of age. Her body was interred January 9, 1883 in Mcpherson, Ks.

33 iii. Carrie Edna Simpson was born in Spring Va. Twp., Mcpherson, Ks December 23, 1883. Carrie died July 19, 1957 in Colorado Springs, El Paso, Co, at 73 years of age. Her body was interred July 20, 1957 in Evergreen Cem., Colorado Springs, El Paso, Co. She married William Howard Montgomery in Wichita, Sedgwick, Ks, May 10, 1903. William was born in Guernsey, Oh September 3, 1867. William died June 13, 1955 in Colorado Springs, El Paso, Co, at 87 years of age. 34 iv. Helen Vandervort Simpson was born in Eden Twp., Sumner, Ks April 12, 1892. Helen died April 6, 1972 in Oskaloosa, Jefferson, Ks, at 79 years of age. Her body was interred April 8, 1972 in Pleasant View C., Oskaloosa, Jefferson, Ks. She married James Oliver Evans in Grinnell, Gove, Ks, December 21, 1910. James was born in Crawfordsville, Montgomery, In August 14, 1888. James died February 9, 1953 in Leavenworth, Leavenworth, Ks, at 64 years of age. His body was interred February 11, 1953 in Pleasant View C., Oskaloosa, Oskaloosa, Ks. (See James Oliver Evans for the continuation of this line.)

35 v. Orville Lee Simpson was born in Salt Fork Twp., Grant, Ok November 9, 1894. Orville died August 6, 1910 in Grinnell, Gove, Ks, at 15 years of age. His body was interred August 1910 in Grinnell Cem., Grinnell, Gove, Ks.

36 vi. Hallie Belle Simpson was born in Salt Fork Twp., Grant, Ok July 13, 1897. Hallie died November 5, 1988 in Fort Smith, Sebastian, Ar, at 91 years of age. Her body was interred November 9, 1988 in Winterset Cem., Gorham, Russell, Ks. She married Louis Otto Roden in Salina, Saline, Ks, November 17, 1920. Louis was born in Vale, Crawford, Ia November 14, 1877. Louis died October 21, 1964 in Knoxville, Johnson, Ar, at 86 years of age. 37 vii. Mary Elizabeth Simpson was born in Sedgwick, Sedgwick, Ks September 13, 1903. Mary died June 16, 1997 in Hoisington, Barton, Ks, at 93 years of age. Her body was interred June 21, 1997 in Green Acres M.g., Scottsdale, Maricopa, Az. She married Lloyd Jacob Tustin in Grinnell, Gove, Ks, July 30, 1921. Lloyd was born in Gove, Ks July 18, 1899. Lloyd died January 30, 1970 in Phoenix, Maricopa, Az, at 70 years of age. His body was interred February 2, 1970 in Green Acres M.g., Scottsdale, Maricopa, Az.
