1. James Oliver¹ Evans was born in Crawfordsville, Montgomery, In August 14, 1888. James died February 9, 1953 in Leavenworth, Leavenworth, Ks, at 64 years of age. His body was interred February 11, 1953 in Pleasant View C., Oskaloosa, Oskaloosa, Ks.

He married Helen Vandervort Simpson in Grinnell, Gove, Ks, December 21, 1910. Helen was born in Eden Twp., Sumner, Ks April 12, 1892. Helen was the daughter of James Alexander Simpson and Ida Vandervort Schermerhorn. Helen died April 6, 1972 in Oskaloosa, Jefferson, Ks, at 79 years of age. Her body was interred April 8, 1972 in Pleasant View C., Oskaloosa, Jefferson, Ks.

James Oliver Evans and Helen Vandervort Simpson had the following children:

2 i. James Simpson² Evans was born in Grinnell, Gove, Ks December 29, 1913. James died October 7, 1935 in Grinnell, Gove, Ks, at 21 years of age. His body was interred October 8, 1935 in Grinnell Cem., Grinnell, Gove, Ks.

3 ii. Mayetta Belle Evans (still alive).
