He married Katie Emma Tarpley Childress in Dallas County, Texas, September 26, 1876. Katie was born in Grenada County, Mississippi May 3, 1854. Katie was the daughter of Mitchell Childress and Julia Baccus Benson Tarpley. Katie died August 1, 1921 in Queens, New York, New York, at 67 years of age. Her body was interred in Woodlawn Cemetery, New York, New York.
