Bowman Home Page

Hi and Welcome to the Bowman Home Page. We are descendants of James M. Bowman and his wife Ruth (?). They were both born in South Carolina. If you have any suggestions on where please let me know.

More recently, my great great grandparents were Rev. James Verner Bowman and Sarah Evalina Moore. He was a pastor for the Friends Church in at least two states. He served as pastor at Cold Springs, OK from 1928-1933 and his second time there from 1961-1966.

The Bowman's and Moore's came to OK during the land rush from TX. They all settled near Dewey and Custer Counties. Some branches settled elsewhere in OK and some moved back to TX in later years.
