He married D. Mildred Tygart in Sigourney, Keokuk, Iowa, April 25, 1936.⁽⁶⁰⁾ D. was born in West Lancaster Twp., Keokuk, Iowa 1914.⁽⁶¹⁾ D.⁽⁶²⁾ was the daughter of Jesse Franklin Tygart and Alvina Sophia Bruns. Her body was interred in Abel Cemetery, Belton Twp., Keokuk, Iowa.⁽⁶³⁾

Waldo L. Shaw and D. Mildred Tygart had the following children:
