He married Eva Viola Tygart in Sigourney, Keokuk, Iowa, August 6, 1892.⁽³⁹⁾ Eva was born in Warren Twp., Keokuk, Iowa about 1875. Eva⁽⁴⁰⁾ was the daughter of Cyrus Tygart and Martha Lee Page. Eva died after July 1969 in Ottumwa, Wapello, Iowa.⁽⁴¹⁾

W. R. Monahan and Eva Viola Tygart had the following child:
