2. Pleasant Perrin² Cardwell (Noah¹) was born in Rockingham County, NC September 3, 1820. Pleasant died February 23, 1900 in Republic City, Republic County, KS, at 79 years of age. His body was interred in Republic County, KS, Prairie Rose Cemetery.

He married Sarah "Sally" Catt in Hancock County, IN, October 3, 1844. Sarah was born in OH October 18, 1824. Sarah was the daughter of Johannes "John" Catt and Leah Louisa Rupert. Sarah died March 13, 1913 in Republic County, KS, at 88 years of age. Her body was interred in Republic County, KS, Prairie Rose Cemetery.

Pleasant Perrin Cardwell and Sarah "Sally" Catt had the following children:

8 i. Joseph Henry Sr.³ Cardwell was born in Hancock County, IN October 29, 1844. Joseph died August 20, 1885 in Scandia, Republic County, KS, at 40 years of age.

9 ii. Leah Ann Cardwell was born in IN June 7, 1846. She married Wilson Smith.

10 iii. Almira Jane Cardwell was born in IN 1848. She married Mr. Igo.

11 iv. Martin "Marsh" Cardwell was born in IA February 22, 1851. He married Flora Igo.

12 v. Mary Ellen "Kell" Cardwell was born in IA March 26, 1852. Mary died January 19, 1936 in Rexford, Thomas County, KS, at 83 years of age. She married Jacob Rudd.

13 vi. James Pleasant Cardwell was born in Cedar Rapids, IA October 4, 1854. James died February 20, 1941 in Bellevile, Republic County, KS, at 86 years of age. He married Minnie Alice Barrett in Republic County, KS, November 19, 1881. Minnie was born in Salem, Washington County, IN January 29, 1865. Minnie was the daughter of Jacob Barrett and Sarah Prather. Minnie died December 27, 1930 in Bellevile, Republic County, KS, at 65 years of age.

14 vii. John M. Cardwell was born in Cedar Rapids, IA September 14, 1856. John died November 26, 1941 in Seward, NE, at 85 years of age. He married Laura Welsh.

15 viii. Sarah Emma Cardwell was born in Johnson County, IA November 29, 1858. Sarah died June 30, 1935 in Republic County, KS, at 76 years of age. She married Andrew Stromberg.

16 ix. Nelson Douglas Cardwell was born in Johnson County, IA November 12, 1860. He married five times. He married Clara Fisher. He married Nina Jewett. He married Josie Rydall. He married Mae Stafford. He married Miss Beauchamp.

17 x. Becky Cardwell was born 1863. She married Mr. Igo.

18 xi. Ulysis Johnson "Jont" Cardwell was born in Johnson County, IA February 19, 1864. Ulysis died July 19, 1962 at 98 years of age. He married Lydia Fisher.

19 xii. Unison May Cardwell was born in IA 1866. She married Lewis Fisher.
