2. Carpenter "Minnis" Orley² Dickerson (John¹) was born in Floyd County, VA March 23, 1889. Carpenter died February 28, 1980 in Clinton, Custer County, OK, at 90 years of age. His body was interred March 1, 1980 in Dewey County, OK, Center Point Cemetery.

He married Alta Mae Bowman in Putnam, Dewey County, OK, November 22, 1911. Alta was born in Gainsville, Cooke County, TX May 24, 1892. Alta was the daughter of Thomas Fletcher Bowman and Edna Pearl Springer. Alta died June 16, 1968 in Clinton, Custer County, OK, at 76 years of age. Her body was interred June 18, 1968 in Dewey County, OK, Center Point Cemetery.

Carpenter "Minnis" Orley Dickerson and Alta Mae Bowman had the following children:
