He married Ada Augusta Abernathy in Giles County, Tennessee, November 19, 1902. Ada was born in Pulaski, Giles County, Tennessee October 24, 1879. Ada was the daughter of John Wesley Abernathy and Katherine Tarpley. Ada died April 27, 1967 in Pulaski, Giles County, Tennessee, at 87 years of age.
