2. William Eldridge² Claxton (William (Bill)¹) was born in Athens, AL April 11, 1878. William died May 25, 1967 in Abilene, TX, at 89 years of age. His body was interred in Abilene, Taylor County, TX.

He married twice. He married Myrtle G. Green. He married Myrtle G. Green in Waxahache, TX, 1901. Myrtle was born in TN May 7, 1878. Myrtle was the daughter of Jim Green. Myrtle died May 12, 1976 in Abilene, TX, at 98 years of age. Her body was interred in Abilene, Taylor County, TX.

William Eldridge Claxton and Myrtle G. Green had the following child:

3 i. Nora Lee³ Claxton was born May 23, 1902. Nora died August 15, 1994 in Odessa, Ector County, TX, at 92 years of age. Her body was interred in Clyde, TX. She married Frank Gilmer Cole in Abilene, TX, September 29, 1928. Frank was born April 14, 1901. Frank was the son of Thomas Francis Cole and Laura Ann Ramsey. Frank died December 12, 1966 in Abilene, TX, at 65 years of age. His body was interred in Clyde, TX. (See Frank Gilmer Cole for the continuation of this line.)

William Eldridge Claxton and Myrtle G. Green had the following children:

4 ii. William Earl Claxton was born September 1, 1903. William died November 5, 1983 at 80 years of age.

5 iii. James "Jim" Grady Claxton was born February 13, 1906. James died August 4, 1954 in Abilene, TX, at 48 years of age.

6 iv. Odis Archie Claxton (still alive).

7 v. Leona Lucille Claxton was born in Munday, TX June 16, 1913. Leona died February 20, 1998 in Abilene, Taylor County, TX, at 84 years of age. Her body was interred in Abilene, Taylor County, TX, Elmwood Memorial Park. She married Mr. Smith 1953.

8 vi. Lindell Burnet Claxton was born February 4, 1915. Lindell died March 8, 1994 in Abilene, Taylor County, TX, at 79 years of age.
