36. Oscar Leonidas⁶ Harwell (Merritt Birdsong⁵, Josiah⁴, Joseph³, Lemuel², Samuel¹) was born in Pulaski, Giles County, TN December 30, 1869. Oscar died November 16 1963 Frederick, Tillman County, OK, at 93 years of age. His body was interred in Vega, TX, Vega Memorial Park Cemetery.

He married twice. He married Mary Ellen Whiteside in Dallas County, TX, July 6, 1896. Mary was born in Hickman County, TN February 7, 1867. Mary died March 9, 1916 in Adrian, TX, at 49 years of age. He married Mona Wooten Lawrence Denton, TX, 1927. Mona was born in Warren, Barren County, KY July 23, 1881. Mona was the daughter of Sidney Jackson Lawrence and Ella Grayson. Mona died August 26, 1973 Frederick, Tilllman County, OK, at 92 years of age.

Oscar Leonidas Harwell and Mary Ellen Whiteside had the following children:

+ 41 i. Roddy⁷ Harwell was born November 25, 1897.

42 ii. Verna Harwell was born in TX February 21, 1899. Verna died January 16, 1962 in Groom, TX, at 62 years of age. Her body was interred in Groom, TX, Groom Cemetery. She married George C. Watley. George died 1959. (See George C. Watley for the continuation of this line.)

43 iii. Brown Harwell was born in Farmers Branch, TX February 24, 1901. Brown died September 30, 1990 in Lakewood, CO, at 89 years of age. He married an unknown person.

Oscar Leonidas Harwell and Mona Wooten Lawrence had the following child:

+ 44 iv. Jack L. Harwell (still alive).
