Lucretia was the daughter of Samuel Sanders Tarpley and Martha Jane "Jenny" Virginia Smith. Lucretia died January 6, 1970 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, at 87 years of age. Her body was interred in Ardmore, Carter County, Oklahoma.

J. Wolford Ellis and Lucretia Parthenia Tarpley had the following children:
